Veneers in Stratford, CT

Veneers are a popular dental treatment that can dramatically improve the appearance of your smile. They are thin, custom-made shells crafted from tooth-colored materials designed to cover the front surface of teeth. Veneers are used to fix various dental issues, such as discolored, worn down, chipped, broken, uneven, irregularly shaped teeth, and even to close gaps between teeth. The treatment is minimally invasive and can be completed in just a few appointments at your local dental office, like Stratford Smiles, making it a convenient option for those looking to enhance their smile quickly.

Why Should I Get Veneers?

Veneers offer a simple and effective solution to various dental problems. If you're unhappy with the color, shape, or overall appearance of your teeth, veneers could be the perfect solution. They provide a natural-looking way to make your teeth whiter and more uniform, boosting your confidence and enhancing your smile. Veneers are also a great option if you have a single tooth or several teeth that are discolored, chipped, or broken. They can provide a protective barrier, preventing further damage and maintaining the health of your teeth.

The Benefits Of Veneers

Improved Aesthetics

Veneers are custom-made to fit your teeth, providing an improved aesthetic appearance. They are designed to match the color, size, and shape of your natural teeth, ensuring a seamless and natural look. With veneers, you can achieve a bright, white smile that looks completely natural.

Durability

Veneers are made from durable materials like porcelain, which is resistant to staining and chipping. With proper care, your veneers can last for many years, making them a cost-effective solution for improving your smile. They provide a long-term solution to cosmetic dental issues, offering excellent value for money.

Minimal Tooth Alteration

Veneers require minimal alteration to your natural teeth. The procedure involves removing a small amount of enamel from the front of your teeth to make room for the veneers. This means that most of your natural tooth structure is preserved, which is beneficial for your long-term oral health.

The Veneers Treatment Process

Consultation and Planning

The first step in the veneers treatment process is a consultation with Dr. Sheng. During this appointment, he will examine your teeth, discuss your aesthetic goals, and determine whether veneers are the right option for you. He may also take X-rays or make impressions of your mouth and teeth.

Preparation

Once it's determined that veneers are a good fit for you, Dr. Sheng will prepare your teeth for the veneers. This involves removing about 1/2 millimeter of enamel from the tooth surface, which is roughly equal to the thickness of the veneer to be added. After the teeth are prepared, Dr. Sheng will make a model or impression of your teeth, which is sent to a dental laboratory to construct your veneers.

Bonding

After your veneers are ready, Dr. Sheng will temporarily place them on your teeth to examine their fit and color, repeatedly removing and trimming them to achieve the proper fit; he will then adjust the color as needed. Once everything is perfect, your teeth will be cleaned, polished, and etched to allow for a strong bonding process. A special cement is applied to the veneer, which is then placed on your tooth. Once properly positioned, Dr. Sheng will apply a special light to the veneer, which activates chemicals in the cement causing it to harden quickly.
